Juan Mora Sport Fishing invites you to experience the incredible richness of Costa Rica’s world-class fishery. Led by Captain Juan Mora and his professional, attentive crew, every trip is designed to deliver a seamless, exciting, and memorable day on the water.
We offer half-day, ¾-day, and full-day charters, allowing you to explore fishing grounds suited to your preferences and experience level. Shorter trips focus on inshore and nearshore species such as Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, and Little Tunny, with the occasional opportunity to encounter billfish. For those seeking the ultimate offshore adventure, our full-day excursions target prized species, including Marlin (Black, Blue, and Striped) and Sailfish, renowned for their strength and acrobatics.
Our charters accommodate a variety of fishing styles, including conventional techniques and fly fishing (guests are welcome to bring their own fly gear). Snorkeling can also be arranged upon request, offering an additional way to enjoy the beautiful Pacific waters.
Your experience will take place aboard our well-maintained and fully equipped fleet. Our 27’ Robalo center console, restored in 2019 and powered by a 200 HP Suzuki engine, comfortably accommodates up to five anglers. For those seeking enhanced comfort and offshore capability, our two Bertram 31’ vessels, Crazy Dog (twin 315 HP Cummins engines) and Icomunicado (twin 370 HP Cummins engines with onboard head), provide a smooth, stable ride.
All boats are outfitted with premium Penn and Shimano tackle, GPS and fish-finding technology, live bait prepared during the trip, lures, tuna tubes, and outriggers. Captain Juan and his crew ensure every detail is handled, including catch cleaning and filleting at the end of your trip.
Families are welcome, with children ages 6 and up invited to join the experience. Life jackets are provided for safety, and all trips include snacks, drinks, and sandwiches for your comfort. (Smaller kids, parents need to provide their life jackets).
We recommend bringing sunscreen, long-sleeve shirts, and sunglasses for sun protection.
